Confirm the first shared check-in
Read back a fresh test check-in together. Match the sender, date, status, and optional note before relying on a new connection.
Prepare a recognizable test
Agree on a short, nonprivate note such as “Test after lunch”. The sender chooses an accurate check-in status. Send it after acceptance, rather than using a screenshot of an older example.
Read these details back
- Which person appears on the recipient’s phone.
- The displayed date and time of the new record.
- The status the sender actually chose.
- The agreed test note, if included.
- Whether an attachment opens, if you tested one.
A confirmation message to copy
“I received your new check-in from [date and time]. It says [status] and [test note]. I can open [attachment, if tested]. Our first test worked.” Use only the parts you checked.
When the details do not match
Write down what each phone shows and investigate delivery. A notification alone is insufficient. One successful test establishes that test, rather than uninterrupted future delivery.
