Keep a useful two-phone troubleshooting log
Record what each phone shows during one controlled test. A short log helps separate recording, invitation acceptance, delivery, and notification presentation.
Copy this log structure
“Test date and time [including time zone]. Sender app and iOS versions [values]. Recipient versions [values]. Connection status on each phone [values]. Action tried [one action]. Sender result [visible result]. Recipient result [visible result]. Error wording [exact text].”
Run one test at a time
- Agree on a nonprivate test note.
- Record the current connection status.
- Make one new check-in or repeat the specific failing action.
- Compare the displayed record and notification separately.
- Write down the result before changing another setting.
Keep the report safe and useful
Use placeholders for private names where possible. Exclude account passwords, verification codes, and whole private histories. Describe what you observed rather than writing a guessed diagnosis into the result field.
