Agree on whether a check-in needs a reply
Decide which updates are simply a hello and which requests need a direct answer. Receiving a check-in does not automatically establish acknowledgment.
A no-reply-needed agreement
“An ordinary ‘I’m okay’ update does not need a reply. We will still call or message when we want a conversation.” Make sure both people actually want that arrangement.
A request that needs acknowledgment
“If I ask for help or a call, please use [contact route] to say whether you can respond. I will contact you directly if timing matters.” Choose a route both people normally use.
Leave ambiguous assumptions out
- Whether any reply is expected.
- Where the reply should go.
- How you confirm an accepted practical request.
- What you do when a recipient is unavailable.
- That DailyCheck does not guarantee reading or response.
