Restore microphone access for a voice note

Choose a quiet test

Record only a brief, nonprivate test phrase. Avoid capturing another person’s conversation while investigating the microphone. A recording problem differs from an audio attachment that will not download.

Review the recording permission

1. Open Settings and choose Privacy & Security.
2. Select Microphone and look for DailyCheck.
3. Allow access if you want to use recording.
4. Return to DailyCheck and make a short test recording.
5. Listen to it where playback is available and confirm the recipient can open a newly shared recording.

If DailyCheck is absent from the list

Try the recording control to trigger its permission request. If the phone restricts permission changes, review the restriction with the device owner or administrator. Do not erase the app or grant unrelated access to solve the prompt.
