Check Wi-Fi when a check-in will not sync

A Wi-Fi symbol alone does not prove internet access. Confirm that both phones can reach the internet before investigating the private connection.

Test the network first

  1. On the affected iPhone, open Settings and review Wi-Fi.
  2. Confirm the intended network is selected.
  3. Open a public webpage in Safari to test actual internet access.
  4. If it fails, try another trusted network or cellular connection that you are allowed to use.
  5. Return to DailyCheck and compare a fresh record on both phones.

Distinguish a network failure from an app failure

If several apps cannot reach the internet, address the network problem first. If browsing works but sharing fails, check invitation acceptance and the app’s displayed status. Record which test passed.

Avoid disruptive resets as a first step

A network reset can remove saved network details. Follow Apple’s troubleshooting or your network administrator’s guidance if ordinary connection checks fail. Keep existing check-ins and private shares intact while isolating the issue.
