Setup & troubleshooting
Reconnect after a recipient changes phone numbers
Confirm the new number directly and review the existing DailyCheck connection. Editing Contacts alone does not establish the destination of a stored invitation.
Separate the changes
- Whether the person changed only their number or also their Apple Account.
- Whether the existing connection still shows accepted access.
- Which number a new Messages invitation would actually use.
- Whether a fresh check-in still appears on their current phone.
Replace the setup only when needed
- Confirm the new number through an existing trusted conversation.
- Update the phone’s contact details.
- Review the person’s status in DailyCheck and test existing delivery.
- If the stored setup needs replacing, stop the old access and confirm the result before removing the person.
- Add the correct person, send the new invitation to the reviewed address, and test after acceptance.
An address and an account are different
A phone number helps address Messages. Apple’s private share has its own access state. Do not interpret a number change as proof of revocation or guarantee that the previous connection disappeared.
